What Happens After You Hit Send

Six questions buyers ask before a first order, answered in the order they come up.

Every first order is an act of trust, and trust takes time. From the first conversation to the first production order, a new part usually takes six to eight months, sometimes longer. Here is what happens in that time, in the order it happens.

1

First contact

It starts with a part, not a price

Most programs begin with a sample part or a drawing and a conversation. You talk to Jinay Shah, our Managing Partner, on North American hours, or to one of our sales partners near you, and you hear back the same day or the next business day. The first question isn't what the part costs. It's what the part has to do.

2

Consultation

We agree the scope before anything is priced

Then we work through the details together: the material and grade, the color and texture, and everything that happens after molding, such as machining, drilling, polishing or assembly. Two parts can share a drawing and still be made of different plastic, so the scope comes first.

3

Quote, tool and samples

We price the whole job, then prove it

With the scope agreed, we quote the whole operation, not just the molding: a standard quote in three business days, a complex one in five. When you're ready to go ahead, a new mold, samples and approval typically take five to seven weeks, and every cavity is measured against your drawing in the first article report.

4

Production

You sign off, and we own the rest

Nothing runs until you approve. From then on, quality is our job: we source the material, inspect the finished parts at our factory, keep the records and manage supply under our ISO 9001 quality system.

5

Every shipment

Each shipment arrives with its proof

Paperwork is how a factory shows you what happened when you weren't there. Every shipment carries a pre-dispatch inspection report, a certificate of conformity and lot traceability, with acceptance sampling to ISO 2859-1.

6

Always

The mold stays yours

If you pay for a mold, it's yours, and the quote says so, with maintenance and release terms in writing. Moving an existing mold to us? We inspect and trial it first, and quote any repair before work begins.
